Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Standards Committee jointly issued the Guidelines for the Construction of Standard System of the National Automotive Networking Industry (General Requirements), the Guidelines for the Construction of Standard System of the National Automotive Networking Industry (Information Communication), and the Guidelines for the Construction of Standard System of the National Automotive Networking Industry (Electronic Products and Services), which will comprehensively promote the research and development of technologies and standards for the automobile networking industry, and vigorously build an integrated and innovative ecological system. Promote the development of new technologies and new business such as auto-driving.

The automobile networking industry is a new industry form which relies on information and communication technology to provide comprehensive information services through all-round connection and data interaction of in-car, car and vehicle, vehicle and road, vehicle and person, vehicle and service platform, forming a deep integration of automobile, electronics, information communication, road transportation and other industries. It is a global innovation hotspot and future development highlight. Vigorously developing the automobile networking is conducive to the innovation and development of the automobile industry, building a new mode and new format of automobile and traffic services, promoting the development of assisted and automatic driving, improving traffic efficiency, reducing accident incidence, saving resources, reducing pollution, and further emancipating the productive forces.

In recent years, China's automotive networking industry has developed rapidly, key technology innovations have been accelerating, construction of test demonstration areas has achieved initial results, and the initial formation of an innovative ecological system of integration involves the development of multiple industries such as automobiles, information and communications, as well as digital transformation in transportation, vehicle management and other fields. In order to achieve full cooperation and strengthen collaboration, it is imperative to establish cross-industry, cross-domain, and Standard system to meet the needs of the development of technology and industry in China.

The Guidelines for the Construction of National Automotive Networking Industry Standard System are divided into several parts, including general requirements, smart network automotive, information communication, electronic products and services, among which the smart network automotive part has been published at the end of 2017. In the guide, we should give full play to the top-level design and basic leading role of standards in the eco-environment construction of the automotive networking industry, accelerate the research and formulation of common foundations, key technologies and urgently needed standards for the industry, and accelerate the development of related standards for automotive driving and assisted driving, key technologies standards for automotive electronic products, key technologies standards for wireless communication, and key technologies standards for LTE-V2X and 5G eV2X for the application of the automotive networking industry. We will gradually build a national standard system for the automotive networking industry that is cross-industry, cross-domain and adapts to the needs of China's technology and industry development to meet the needs of industrial development such as research and development, testing, demonstration and operation. By 2020, the national standard system for the automobile networking industry will be basically established.

Next, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with relevant departments, will continue to play a good role of the special committee for the development of the automotive networking industry composed of 20 departments and units such as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Transportation, and so on. It will work together to promote the resolution of problems in policies, regulations, technical standards, infrastructure and management systems, strengthen the regulation and guidance of industrial development, and create an environment conducive to industrial development. Efforts will be made to break through key technologies such as advanced sensors, in-vehicle operating systems and middleware, in-vehicle intelligent processing platforms, automotive-grade chips, and to strengthen the coverage and application of LTE-V2X wireless communication technology, promote the informationization and interface transformation of road infrastructure such as signal lights and traffic signs, speed up the establishment of automobile networking industry system, promote the development of auto-driving, and foster new momentum of economic development.
